Mission Statement

To create awareness of the importance of Florida's native tree canopy through education and to encourage a stewardship of the native tree canopy through the preservation, protection, and replanting of native trees.

Accomplishments

  • Florida friendly landscaping projects installed at Port Charlotte High School, the North Port Post Office, and Eden Court.
  • Annual Tour de North Port fundraiser bicycle ride every October
  • * 305 street trees planted along N. Salford Blvd. (in partnership with the City of North Port)
  • “Tree Blitz 2009” (50 trees planted at North Port schools)
  • Our Annual Tree Festival (Since 1999)
  • * “Florida-friendly” Landscape & Tree Clinics
  • *Monthly “ Eco-Kids Club” programs
  • * Annual “Eco-Kids Blast!” at Dallas White Park
  • *“Circle of Trees” planted at North Port High School
  • * Commemorative Tree Walk along Tamiami Trail
  • * Tree plantings at the Garden of the Five Senses
  • * “Florida-friendly” Yards Tour
  • * “Kids Garden” at the Boys & Girls Club
  • * Drought-tolerant landscaping installed at the North Port YMCA
